The four main seasons are summer, winter, autumn and spring. Each of these are marked by particular changes in the weather and climate. However, the Indian lunar calendar shows six seasons which are Grishma or summer, Varsha or monsoon, Sharad or autumn,Hemant or the period between mid-November and mid-January,Shishir or the end of winter season and Basant or spring.
